Afcae / Cina / Acap: first initiative of the experimental scheme “Etudiant.es au cinéma”

The Afcae, Cina (Independent Cinemas of New Aquitaine) and Acap (the regional center for education in the image of Hauts-de-France) will inaugurate, on Saturday April 1, in four partner cinemas, the device " Etudiant.es au cinema” (Students in cinemas), announced the association of arthouse cinemas on its website. The Afcae coordinates on a national scale, with the support of the CNC, this experiment which "aims to involve students in the life of cinemas by giving them the keys to programming and animations".
The Dietrich in Poitiers, the Ciné St-Leu in Amiens, the Concorde in Nantes and the MJC Jacques Tati in Orsay, will be offering the operation “Les étudiant.e.s à l'affiche!" (Students on display!), which will take the form of a day of screening “entirely designed by the students ”. Three screenings are planned: one dedicated to a heritage film (Hausu/House by Nobuhiko Ōbayashi and The Host by Bong Joon-ho), another dedicated to a landmark feature film from 2022 (En corps by Cédric Klapisch, Bruno Reidal by Vincent Le Port, Falcon Lake by Charlotte Le Bon) and, finally, a premiere (Mad God by Phil Tippett, Chien de la casse by Jean-Baptiste Durand and Suzume by Makoto Shinkai). The cinemas will also offer activities (quizzes, concerts, blind tests, etc.), designed by the student organizers also.
