Cannes 2023: “Killers of the Flower Moon” by Martin Scorsese confirmed in the Official Selection

The organizers of the Cannes Film Festival (May 16 to 27) confirmed on Friday March 31 the presence of the film Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone. The American director, Palme d'or in 1976 with Taxi Driver, returns to the Official Selection for the first time since 1986 and the presentation of After Hours, which had received the prize for directing . The film will be presented in world premiere on the Croisette on Saturday May 20, without it being specified whether it will be in competition or not. The entire film crew should be on the red carpet. This is the first film confirmed for this 76th edition, the selection must be unveiled in mid-April.

Killers of the Flower Moon is produced by Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions (Martin Scorsese), Appian Way (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Apple Studios. It will be available on the Apple TV+ platform after its theatrical release. In France, the Apple Original film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is scheduled for October 18 (Satellifacts, March 28).

The feature film traces the FBI's first homicide investigation, when a series of murders rage among an Indian tribe settled on oil-rich land in the 1920s.
