
Producer Franck Saurat (Carson Prod.) died at the age of 55, several concordant sources informed Satellifacts on Thursday, December 8. His death occurred on the night of December 7 to 8 in a Parisian hospital following a cardiac arrest, according to Le Parisien quoting Yossef Balti, associate producer of Carson Prod.
During his career, Franck Saurat produced numerous entertainment programs including Le Grand Show de l’humour, Stars à domicile, Les Victoires de la musique, Symphonic show, La Fête de la musique, Bienvenue chez les Bodin’s, Un candidat pour l’Eurovision, Du côté de chez Dave, and Dicaire Show, among others.
"A man of convictions and values, Franck Saurat had been strongly committed for several years to Line Renaud to produce France 2's annual evening event for Sidaction," emphasized France Télévisions in a press release. The public group will pay tribute to him on Friday, December 9 in the program 300 Chœurs, a Carson production, at 9:10 p.m., on France 3.
Born in 1967, Franck Saurat started out in the business by becoming, in 1992, assistant to producer Thierry Suc, at TS3. In 1994, he joined Case Productions where he remained until 1998. Within the company of Stéphane Courbit and Jacques Essebag (Arthur), he held various positions including, at the end, that of executive producer. He then joined DMLS TV as an associate producer. In April 2001, he founded with Jean-Luc Delarue Carson Prod., a subsidiary of Reservoir Prod. At the end of 2006, Franck Saurat became independent before joining Lagardère Entertainment in September 2009 as entertainment director, alongside the integration of his company within the group and the general management of Angel Productions, another subsidiary of Lagardère Entertainment. In January 2020, Lagardère Studios (formerly Entertainment) sold all of its shares to Franck Saurat.
