Viaplay: launch dates for the OTT platform in the United States and Canada

Viaplay Group is continuing its deployment and will launch its Viaplay streaming platform in OTT on February 22 in the United States and March 7 in Canada, the Scandinavian group announced on Wednesday, February 8. The service will be respectively offered at 5.99 dollars (5.58 €) and 6.99 Canadian dollars (4.86 €) per month.
North American subscribers will have access to over 1,500 hours of premium European content upon launch of the Viaplay app. The offer notably includes several black Nordic thrillers (Trom, Furia and Partisan), series (including Threesome for young adults), documentaries and feature films (A Man Called Ove, Another Round, etc.). Viaplay is also accessible in the United States via Comcast's Xfinity and Xumo platforms and in the Roku Channel's Premium offer on subscription.
These two launches bring the number of Viaplay OTT markets to 13 in two years. In addition to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, the service is offered over OTT in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
