20th Century Studios: imminent start of filming for a new “Alien” film

The filming of a new Alien, directed by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead), will begin on March 9 in Budapest, Hungary, produced by 20th Century Studios, the Disney group announced on Tuesday March 7. The cast brings together Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.

Ridley Scott, director of the first film in the saga, is among the producers of this new opus alongside Michael Pruss through their company Scott Free Productions. The screenplay is by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

In this 9th film in the franchise (after four films, two crossovers and two prequels), a group of young people living in a distant world will come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
