
The representative of the prosecution of an Algerian court requested three years in prison for " funding received from abroad and publication of information harmful to the national interest" against Moncef Aït Kaci, journalist and former correspondent for France 24 in Algiers, and director and technician Ramdane Rahmouni, indicated the news channel, Thursday, March 9. The deliberation is expected for March 22. Moncef Aït Kaci and Ramdane Rahmouni had been arrested in July 2020, then released after a few hours of detention (Satellifacts, July 29, 2020).
France 24 expressed its " deep concern at this indictment, but has confidence in justice", it underlines in her press release. It “ gives its full support to its former teams accredited in Algeria”.
