Arte will broadcast on Wednesday March 15 and Thursday March 16 at 8:55 p.m. Esterno Notte (6 x 52'), the first series by Italian filmmaker Marco Bellochio. It will be online from March 8 on arte.tv, where it will then be available until July 13.
The series traces the kidnapping and assassination of Aldo Moro, president of the Christian Democracy party, in Rome, by the far-left terrorist organization the Red Brigades, in 1978. These events had already inspired the director to make the film Buongiorno, notte, in theaters in 2004.
Produced for Rai by The Apartment (Fremantle group, which also handles distribution) with Kavac Film, in co-production with Arte France and in collaboration with Rai Fiction, from a screenplay by Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Bises (Gomorra, The Young Pope, Il miracolo), Ludovica Rampoldi and Davide Serino, the series is embodied by Fabrizio Gifuni (Human Capital, The Best of Youth) in the role of the politician, surrounded by Margherita Buy (Mia madre), Toni Servillo (La grande bellezza), Fausto Russo Alesi (The Traitor), Gabriel Montesi (Wise as an Image) and Daniela Marra (Il cacciatore).
