Auctions: the Lumière brothers' living room, including the first cinema seats, on sale June 15

The large salon of the Lumière brothers will be auctioned on Thursday June 15 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, the Aguttes auction house announced on Wednesday May 31. This neo-Renaissance set comes from the Palais Lumière in La Ciotat, the site of the first public screening of the cinematograph on September 21, 1895.

This living room is made up of three monumental ceremonial armchairs in carved walnut wood which can be considered the first cinema seats in the world (4,500-6,000 euros), as well as a pouf-stool (1,800-2000 €) and a table (€2,000-3,000). The auction will be offered in three lots with the possibility of meeting.
