beIN Sports: renewal of rights with the NRL (rugby) for three seasons

beIN Sports has renewed its broadcasting rights for three seasons of the Southern Hemisphere rugby league competition, the National Rugby League, the sports package announced on Thursday March 2. The new season kicks off this Friday, March 3 at 10:05 a.m. on beIN Sports 3. The competition will see the top 17 Australian and New Zealand teams opposing each other.

The channels will broadcast four matches a week, from Thursday to Sunday, with commentary provided by the channels' rugby team, namely Bertrand Bégué, Laurent Bidot, Rodolphe Pires and Vincent Pochulu who will be accompanied by the consultant Louis Bonnery. The deal, the amount of which is not specified, also includes State of Origin, a three-match series between the New South Wales Blues and the Queensland Maroons.
