Canal+: launch of the Cinéduo offer for subscribers, buy-one-get-one-free on all tickets purchased on Thursdays

Canal+ subscribers can now take advantage of the Cinéduo offer " 1 cinema ticket purchased = 1 free ticket" on Thursdays, the group announced, Thursday, 17 November. Cinéduo is valid everywhere in mainland France in partner cinemas mk2, CGR, Kinepolis, Pathé Gaumont, UGC and Prado in Marseille.
The offer is valid every Thursday for all screenings, subject to availability. It is offered only via the "Le Club Canal+" site, where subscribers can obtain a code valid for 30 days from the date of issue (different procedures depending on the cinema selected). The system is limited to three codes per calendar month per Canal+ subscriber.
Note that Cinéduo cannot be combined with any current promotional offer and is not valid if the full price seat is purchased using cinema vouchers or an access card specific to each cinema (in particular multi-seat cards and annual subscription cards). Cinéduo is therefore more limited than Orange's Cinéday, launched in 2011 and which was discontinued at the end of 2021 (Satellifacts, October 26, 2021), which allowed the operator's subscribers to benefit from a buy-one-get-one-free ticket every Tuesday and worked with unlimited and multi-place cards.
A non-existent or limited gain compared to 5-seat cards
According to Satellifacts calculations, taking, for example, two emblematic Parisian cinemas, UGC Les Halles and Pathé Opéra, the bargain compared to a 5-seat card is respectively non-existent, or marginal. In the first example, the full price is €13.90, i.e. €6.95 with Cinéduo, while the ticket in the 5-seat offer, which can be used 5 days out of 7 (including Thursdays) within 60 days, costs €6.80. In the second example, the full price is €14.20, ie €7.10 with Cinéduo, while the ticket in the offer that can be used 7 days a week within 3 months and costs €8.80.
The fact remains that this Cinéduo offer is at least an interesting promotional reminder of the value of going to the cinema, and that if a subscriber, like us, starts to calculate the profitability and chooses the 5-seat network card, everyone, including the world of cinema, will be a winner. It should also be noted that our calculation is not at all representative of the diversity of prices and offers of all the partner cinemas. In short, we can only be delighted with this initiative...
