Canal+ / Mintee Studio: filming of the Original Creation series “Cimetière Indien”

Canal+ has launched filming in Marseille for a new series with the Original Creation label, Cimetière Indien (8 x 52'), a "scorching thriller" produced by Floriane Cortes and Gaspard de Chavagnac for Mintee Studio (Asacha Media Group), indicated the channel in a press release, Friday, June 2. It is directed by Stéphane Demoustier and Farid Bentoumi from a screenplay by Thomas Bidegain and Thibault Vanhulle. Studiocanal will ensure its international distribution.
The series takes place over two eras and retraces "through a sprawling investigation" the rocking of a world by exploring the question of territory and identity in the imaginary city of Peranne, not far from Marseille. In 1995, Lidia (Mouna Soualem), an ambitious young anti-terrorism recruit, is sent to this city to investigate the scalp of an imam, alongside Jean (Olivier Rabourdin), a disillusioned policeman haunted by his memories of the war in Algeria. A quarter of a century later, the former mayor of Peranne (Luc Palun) is assassinated. While Lidia is at the peak of a seemingly flawless career, Jean disappears overnight. The past that everyone thought had been definitively buried resurfaces...
The cast also brings together Denis Eyriey, Hafsia Herzi, Marina Dol, Kamel Mahjoubi and Rémi Pedevilla. Filming will take place in Marseille and its surroundings for a period of 5 months.
