The filming of the first part of the regional fantasy series Bugarach (8 x 26 ') began on December 5 in Toulouse, indicated Occitanie Films on its site. Co-written by Philippe Paumier with Fabien Montagner, also a director, this fiction is produced by Cantina Studio (Olivier Compere, Fabien Montagner, Jeremy Banster), for which this is the first TV series.
This 100% Occitan production, lead by Fabrice Valéry, deputy director of broadcasts and content for France 3 Occitanie, received support from the Occitania/Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region to the tune of 250,000 euros and from the CNC for 400,000 €. The channel provides filming resources through its La Fabrique studio, but also its large set located in Toulouse.
Bugarach, performed by Marilyn Lima (Skam), Lula Cotton Frapier (Skam), Lisa Do Couto Teixeira (Barbaque) with Aurélien Recoing, Jeremy Banster (Un si grand soleil) and Linda Hardy, will be broadcast on the france.tv platform. The story relates to the investigation carried out by a student into the suspicious death of her father, during a crash at Mount Bugarach in Aude. For her and her two childhood friends, this is the beginning of a dizzying quest at the edge of fantasy. In addition to family and intergenerational themes, the plot develops an environmental theme linked to the imminence of an ecological disaster.
Filming will then continue outdoors from March to April, between Bugarach and Quillian in Aude.
