Le Jour du Seigneur is creating the Philoxenia prize, a short film competition for students in Catholic education aged 14 to 22, announced the CFRT, producer of the program broadcast on France Télévisions, Thursday, April 27.
The theme of this distinction is hospitality, philoxenia meaning in Greek “love of the foreigner”. Short films must be 1 to 5 minutes long, including credits, and must have been produced in 2021, 2022 or 2023. Submissions will be open from September 15 to November 7.
The prize will be awarded in three categories: middle school, high school, higher education, and two prizes will be awarded per category (a public prize and a jury prize). The jury will be made up of “personalities from the audiovisual sector, as well as content creators and influencers known to the general public”, describes the press release. The award ceremony will be held in Paris on February 3, 2024.
