City of Nice: 328 days of filming in 2022, a record

The City of Nice recorded a record 328 days of filming in 2022, all formats combined, announced the candidate city for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2028, in a report published on February 22. The Nice public domain has served as the setting for 23 documentaries, 11 digital formats, four TV series, 15 TV shows and three feature films.

The Victorine studios, whose management was taken over by the municipality in 2017, hosted 94 audiovisual productions, including 36 that used the sets.

In addition to 15 commercials, they have hosted the films Etoile filante by Abel & Gordon, The Substance by Coralie Fargeat (A Good Story), and Un coup de dés n’abolira jamais le hasard by Yvan Attal (Curiosa Films).

In terms of television productions, the Victorine infrastructure has been used by six series and TV movies including Ouija for Netflix (Platinum Dunes, Hasbro Films, Blumhouse Productions), the TV movie Julia for HBO Max produced by Peninsula and Meurtres à Valbonne for France 3 produced by Alef One.

In addition, as part of the financial aid granted to productions in development and filming, the City of Nice supported two feature films last year: Diamant brut by Agathe Riedinger and Yaël Langmann (Silex Films) and Tonie by Marielle Gautier-Loreti (Artisans du Film).

Two TV documentaries, Riviera(s) : L’Invention de la Côte d’Azur by Stéphane Benhamou (Siècle Productions) and Nathalie Baye, sa vie américaine by Camille Hamet and Séréna Robin (Day For Night Productions), as well as ' a TV series, La Peste by Gilles Taurand and Georges-Marc Benamou (Siècle Productions).

Since its creation, this aid has been allocated to eight feature films and has generated nearly 160 days of shooting.
