Emmanuel Macron: 15.1 million viewers for the April 17 speech

Nearly 15.1 million viewers (i.e. 69.5% audience share) watched Emmanuel Macron's televised speech on all the channels that broadcast it on Monday April 17 at 8 p.m., according to figures from Médiamétrie published the next day. This intervention by the President of the Republic followed the promulgation of the highly contested pension reform the previous weekend.

By way of comparison, in a similar format, 15.5 million viewers on all channels had followed the previous speech by the President of the Republic, last June, where he spoke for the first time since the loss of his clear majority in the legislative elections.
