The voice of a sports commentator will be cloned using artificial intelligence to feed an audio broadcast during the European Team Athletics Euro (June 20 to 25 in Chorzów, Poland), announced Tuesday June 13 the European Athletics Federation (European Athletics), associated for this first time with Eurovision Sport.
British commentator Hannah England 's voice will be reproduced by an AI tool to read texts broadcast during the event (results, news, presentations, statements) to feed a 24-hour audio broadcast on the federation's YouTube channel. “This project offers the opportunity to show how European Athletics can leverage voice and text-to-audio cloning technologies to showcase its production, extensive data and journalistic expertise across multiple platforms,” writes the federation in a press release.
The Euro athletics team is part of the European Games (multisport event) organized by the city of Krakow.
