The ex-judoka Céline Géraud, Head of the Editorial Staff of the Europe 1 Society-Culture Department, is joining the teams of Europe 1 Sport in parallel, announced the station of the Lagardère group on Thursday, February 2. Taking over from Virginie Phulpin, the journalist will present the show on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, while Lionel Rosso will continue on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
Since the start of the season, Europe 1 Sport has been broadcast daily from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in order to bring sports evenings to the station's listeners. Its presenters are on each show accompanied by on-air consultants and sports editorial experts from Canal+. Lionel Rosso begins the week with a great debrief of the sports news of the weekend, a week that Céline Géraud will continue with omnisports evenings and long-term interviews.
Céline Géraud began her career in 1991 and worked both in the written press and in the audiovisual sector, at TF1, France Télévisions and even RMC, in various positions and levels of responsibility. She notably presented Stade 2 and Automoto. A high-level athlete, Céline Géraud was selected for the French judo team, with which she was crowned European champion in 1984, double French champion, vice-world champion in 1986 and champion at the Paris International Tournament.
On Twitter, Virginie Phulpin published, on Wednesday February 1, a few messages announcing her departure from Europe 1.
