European Audiovisual Observatory: new functions for the Lumière VOD database

New functions were added on Thursday June 8 to the Lumière VOD database, indicated the European Audiovisual Observatory (OAS), which manages it. A new function makes it possible to search for a European work according to its official identification (LUMIERE, IMDB, EIDR, ISAN, or Wikidata ID). The search results are downloadable in Excel format.
As a reminder, the Lumière VOD database, free and supported by Europe Creative, was launched in April 2019. It lists the European series and films available on video on demand and aims to help professionals, public authorities and citizens who search for information on European films and their online availability on VOD services across the EU (Satellifacts, 16 April 2019).
In June 2023, Lumière VOD includes the catalogs of 1,294 VOD services and references 28,121 seasons of series and 65,494 films. In total, the database lists 1,013,603 VOD occurrences. The number of catalogs tracked and the frequency of updates will gradually increase, the statement noted.
