Fémis: a day dedicated to the renewal of the documentary series on April 11

In the continuity of a cycle launched in the fall of 2022, La Fémis will organize Tuesday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., a day of meetings devoted to the " renewal of the documentary series ", through historical, aesthetic and economic approaches.

The morning program notably includes a focus on "seriality in the animated documentary of testimonies", with an example from the British studios Aardman. It will also be interested in " the serial writing of true crime ", in the company of Agnès Pizzini, co-director of L'Affaire d'Outreau, a miniseries from Point du Jour-Les Films du Balibari, which was very noted for its device, broadcast on January 17 and 24 on France 2 (Satellifacts, January 4).

In the afternoon, Anne d'Autume, head of the creative documentary department at the CNC, will present an inventory of the production of documentary series supported by the Center, followed by the role of platforms in the revival of the genre. The day will be punctuated by a meeting with director Claire Simon about her series Le Village.

The event is open to the public, upon registration.
