Fifa World Cup: 17 million viewers in Germany for the match against Spain on ZDF

The FIFA World Cup match between Mannschaft and Spain (1-1) on Sunday, November 27 at 8 p.m., attracted 17.05 million viewers, or just under one in two Germans (49.3%), said the public channel ZDF the next day, after a disappointing premiere of less than 10 million.

The first match of the German team, which ended in a defeat against Japan (2-1), played in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday (Berlin time)and was followed less than usual with only 9.23 million viewers on the public channel ARD, but with an audience share of almost 60%.
