The Amazon-Caribbean International Documentary Film Festival (Festival international du film documentaire Amazonie-Caraïbes, Fifac) has launched a call for films for its 5th edition to be held from October 10 to 14 in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni in French Guiana and online. The call is open until May 30.

The program is open to films produced from January 1, 2022 which relate to the regions of the Guianas, Amazonia and the Caribbean and "demonstrate them through themes, plural and varied looks creating a space for reflection, memory, of emotions,” the statement read. The call targets creative documentaries (short and feature films) and digital documentary creations (webdocs, webseries, interactive experiences, animations, works in virtual reality or 360°, experimental montages).

The films entered may be selected in competition and compete for six prizes: the Grand Prize Fifac-France Télévisions, the Jury Prize, the Best Short Film Prize, the High School Students Prize, the Best Digital Content Prize and the Audience Prize. They may also be selected in the non-competitive category “Parallel screens.”
