247 Max (Médéric Albouy, Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert) is filming in Paris until June 23 for France 2 the TV movie L'Enchanteur (90 ') which retraces the episode where Romain Gary, interpreted by Charles Berling, embodies the character of Emile Ajar in his little cousin Paul Pavlowitch, played by Pierre Perrier, announced the public channel. The TV movie is directed by Philippe Lefebvre from a screenplay by Maria Pourchet and François-Henri Désérable.

After the publication of La Vie devant soi (The Life before us in english), Goncourt Prize of 1975, the press, publishers and readers believe that the book was written by Emile Ajar. Adèle (Claire de La Rüe du Can), a young literature student at the Sorbonne and originally from Nice, where Romain Gary spent part of his childhood, is convinced that Emile Ajar and Romain Gary, who had already won the Prix Goncourt in 1956 for Les Racines du ciel (Roots of Heaven in english), are one and the same writer. She goes to rue du Bac, where he lives, to confront him. Will she denounce him or will the enchanter manage to entice her into his illusion? The deception was revealed by Romain Gary himself, before his suicide in 1980.

The cast also brings together Briton Miranda Raison in the role of Jean Seberg, Anne Charrier who plays Gisèle Halimi, as well as Philippine Delaire, Gaspard Meier-Chaurand, Scali Delpeyrat, Arthur Rémi, Dominique Bastien and Clément Moreau.
