France 2: broadcast this February 21 of “Apocalypse – Le Crépuscule d'Hitler” (CC&C – Mediawan)

France 2 presents this Tuesday, February 21 a special evening with a new opus from the documentary collection "Apocalypse", written and directed by Isabelle Clarke and Daniel Costelle : Apocalypse - Le Crépuscule d'Hitler, relating in two parts, two decisive periods which began the fall of Hitler.
The production of these episodes , broadcast at 9:10 p.m. (“Le Grand Choc”) and at 10 p.m. (“Le Dernier Acte”), produced by CC&C (Mediawan), remains faithful to previous opuses: commented by Mathieu Kassovitz, they are entirely composed of HD archives, restored by the latest technologies, colored and with sound in 5.1. "Our ambition is to write a great world history to go beyond national visions and contribute to the reciprocal understanding of peoples", explain Isabelle Clarke and Daniel Costelle.
" Apocalypse - Le Crépuscule d'Hitler " is the story of the end of the Second World War as seen by Hitler from 1943 and the turning point of the terrible battle of Kursk ", specify the directors. “It is the point of view of the despot which seemed important to us to put forward, during the last decisive months which will lead to his downfall. We show how Hitler's state of health, his military failures, his stubbornness to act alone without listening to his staff, the massive Allied attacks on German cities, gradually lock him into ever more delirious isolation. Month after month, the state of the Nazi army deteriorated, yet Hitler told anyone who would listen that he was going to win the war. »
In the absence of filmed archives of the bunker in which Hitler was confined during the last months of his life, the Nord XR company was asked to virtually reconstruct the site. “This first collaboration allowed us to faithfully reconstruct the underground refuge of Hitler and his close guard. Using rare existing photos and with the support of our historians, this meticulous and detailed reconstruction, in computer-generated images, allows us to project ourselves in an unprecedented way, in the dark daily life of the Führer's last days", underlines the duo of authors and directors.
The CC&C company directed by Diane Imbault-Huart is currently working on a new opus dedicated to the Allied landing in Normandy, which 80th anniversary will be celebrated in 2024.
