Emmanuel Macron will be the guest of the next episode of the Rencontres du Papotin, to be broadcast on January 7, 2023 at 8:30 p.m. on France 2, according to a press release from the channel published on Tuesday, December 20. "For the fourth program, the journalists of Papotin invited the President of the Republic to answer their questions without filter within the usual format of the program," they specified. After Jacques Chirac in 2002, and Nicolas Sarkozy in 2015, Emmanuel Macron is the third president to meet this editorial staff made up of around fifty journalists with autism spectrum disorders.

For this pre-recorded program, the president "lent himself to the game of this atypical interview, evoking pell-mell his personal life, his taste for poetry but also his apprehensions" as head of state, said France 2. The program, produced by Henri Poulain, is moderated by Julien Bancilhon, editor-in-chief of the publication and psychologist.

Since September 2022, Le Papotin, created as a newspaper in 1990, has been available in a television format co-produced by Kiosco.TV and Quad+TEN, based on an original idea by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano (Satellifacts, August 31).
