Gan Foundation for Cinema: "All We Imagine As Light", 2022 winner, soon to be filmed

The shooting of All We Imagine As Light, the first feature film by Indian director Payal Kapadia, will begin in Mumbai on June 15, the Gan Film Foundation, of which she was the winner of the aid for creation in 2022. His first film, the documentary A Night of Knowing Nothing, presented at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in 2021, won the Œil d'or.

The film is produced by Petit Chaos (Thomas Hakim and Julien Graff) with the participation of Arte France Cinéma and will be distributed in French theaters by Condor Distribution. Filming will take place in Mumbai until July 22, before heading to the west Indian coast in October, to Ratnagiri.

The synopsis : Prabha, a nurse living in Mumbai, who hides her inner torment by throwing herself headlong into her work. When she receives an unexpected gift, she can no longer escape the past she has so far tried to put aside. Anu, her young and carefree roommate, is looking for a place in the city where she and her lover can finally make love. The two women travel to a coastal town. There, a tropical forest becomes a space of freedom where their desires can finally manifest themselves.
