National Geographic France announced that it has begun the production of ExoMars, l’impossible mission (44'), documentary on the space program and its many difficulties, directed and produced by François Pomès via Label News (Label Anim group). The film will be released in France and Europe in 2023. The announcement comes a few days before the meeting in Paris of the member states of the European Space Agency where the future of the ExoMars mission will be discussed.
The documentary features this extraordinary space program which aims to send a robot to the planet Mars to determine an extraterrestrial life form exists. Since its launch in the early 2000s, the European Mars rover project has been plagued by technological obstacles as well as economic, health and political crises. Thanks to exclusive access to the operation, ExoMars, l'impossible mission tells how the dream of finding life on Mars was a long-term technical and scientific challenge that has yet to be achieved.
