Labyrinthe Films (Julien Madon and Julien Leclercq) has completed filming a remake of The Wages of Fear for Netflix, the platform announced on its Twitter account on Tuesday April 11. Produced with TF1 Studios, the film is directed by Julien Leclercq (the action films L'Assaut, Sentinelle and Braqueurs, the latter having subsequently been made into a series for Netflix), also writing with Hamid Hlioua (the Braqueurs series and The Eddy). The film, starring Franck Gastambide, Alban Lenoir, Ana Girardot and Sofiane Zermani, will launch on the platform worldwide in 2024.

The Wages of Fear is a film by Henri-Georges Clouzot, released in 1953 and adapted from the novel of the same title by Georges Arnaud. Performed by Yves Montand, Peter van Eyck, Charles Vanel and Folco Lulli, the feature film tells the journey of four truck drivers who convey an unstable load of nitroglycerin in Central America. The film won the Palme d'or at the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and the Bafta for best film. William Friedkin already made a remake of it called Sorcerer in 1977, with Roy Scheider, Bruno Cremer, Francisco Rabal and Amidou.
