Lars von Trier: retrospective at the La Rochelle Cinéma festival then in theaters on July 12

The 51st La Rochelle Cinéma festival (June 30 to July 9) will offer a full retrospective dedicated to Lars von Trier in a restored version, before a national theatrical release on July 12, Les Films du Losange and the festival organizers announced on Tuesday 21. The films will then be released in DVD/Blu-Ray box sets, by Potemkine Films.
A total of 14 films will be available in restored versions: Element of Crime (1984), Epidemic (1987), Europa (1991), Breaking the Waves (1996), The Idiots (1998), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2003), Five Obstructions (2004), Manderlay (2004), Le Direktør (2007), Antichrist (2009), Melancholia (2011), Nymphomaniac – Director's Cut (2013) and finally The House that Jack Built (2018).
During the festival, a round table will also be organized with close collaborators of the filmmaker, his producer Marianne Slot, actor Jean-Marc Barr and the editor of Dancer in the Dark, François Gédigier, hosted by Thomas Aïdan.
