"Le Retour": its producer Elisabeth Perez denounces a "relentlessness" against the film

Elisabeth Perez (Chaz Productions) denounced, Wednesday, May 17, a "relentlessness" against the film Le Retour by Catherine Corsini, selected in official competition at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. As a reminder, this feature film was added to the selection after uncertainties due to irregularities (as a result, the CNC deprived it of its assistance) and suspicions of harassment (Satellifacts, April 17).
"Catherine never harassed anyone," Elisabeth Perez told AFP about the 66-year-old director, of whom she is also the companion. She judged that the financial penalty taken by the CNC, which jeopardizes the survival of her business, was “enormous and disproportionate ”. “I am strangled”, she insisted, believing that she was facing “a big hole of around 400,000 euros”.
She challenged the accusations of harassment which were able to circulate without any proof being provided: “ Catherine [Corsini] is extremely distressed. At times she's rash," she admitted, "but she's not mean, there's no evil." "People who had a bad experience of filming, Catherine never raised her voice against [them]", she underlined, reporting only "a few arguments with her first assistant about work".
In general, the director and her producer declare that they live as “a failure” the fact that “people experience a shooting badly”. Elisabeth Perez assured that she could not explain this “relentlessness”: “We are women, there is a team that is 70% female. The most vocal people are boys. It questions, it questions. »
