American actress Lisa Loring, who played the character Wednesday Addams as a child in the 1960s TV series The Addams Family, died of a stroke aged 64 on Saturday, January 28, the American press reported. Born in 1958 in the Marshall Islands, Lisa Ann DeCinces, her real name, began a career as a child model at the age of 3, before playing little Wednesday in this sitcom (two seasons) broadcast on ABC between 1964 and 1966. This is her best-known role, which she then reprized in a TV movie in 1977. In France, this series was broadcast on M6 in 1987 and 1990.

The famous Addams family, imagined in drawings in American newspapers in 1938 by Charles Addams, has seen several adaptations, including the hit film The Addams Family in 1991 with Christina Ricci in the role of Wednesday. Netflix currently broadcasts a new series Wednesday directed by Tim Burton since the end of November with Jenna Ortega in the title role.
