Nilaya Productions: “L'Histoire Annette Zelman” could be released in theaters in North America

American company Menemsha Films has acquired the North American rights to L'Histoire d'Annette Zelman, its distributor Film & Picture announced on Thursday 9 March. Menemsha Films will launch L'Histoire d'Annette Zelman on the North American festival circuit with hopes of a first quarter 2024 theatrical release.
This telefilm (93'), produced by Nilaya Productions (Patricia Boutinard Rouelle), was broadcast on France 2 on January 25, where it attracted 3.37 million viewers. The film was directed by Philippe Le Guay (Les Femmes du 6 e étage) on a screenplay by Emmanuel Salinger inspired by the true story of Annette Zelman told in the book Dénoncer les juifs sous l’Occupation (Denouncing the Jews under the Occupation) (CNRS editions, 2017) , by Laurent Joly.
In 1978, in Le Mémorial de la déportation des Juifs de France, by Serge and Beate Klarsfeld, the fate of this young girl was detailed : "In this convoy n° 3 a 20-year-old girl left, Annette Zelman, Frenchwoman guilty not only of being Jewish, but of daring to love and be loved by a non-Jewish Frenchman. Annette was in fact denounced to the Gestapo by her fiancé's father.
The cast is made of Ilona Bachelier, Vassili Schneider, Julie Gayet, Laurent Lucas, Daniel Cohen, Guilaine Londez and Louise Legendre.
