Norman Thavaud: police custody lifted for the youtuber, without prosecution at this stage

The police custody of youtuber Norman Thavaud for rape and corruption of minors was lifted on Tuesday, December 6 in the evening "for further investigation," without prosecution at this stage, indicated the Paris prosecutor's office. The host of the "Norman fait des vidéos" channel with 12 million subscribers was placed in police custody on Monday as part of a preliminary investigation entrusted to the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (Brigade de protection des mineurs, BPM) and opened in January 2022 (Satellifacts, December 5).

Six young women have filed a complaint against the youtuber, according to the public prosecutor. According to Libération, five of the complainants accuse Norman Thavaud of rape and two were minors at the time of the incidents. On Monday, the Webedia group (AlloCiné, Purepeople, etc.) announced, via Twitter, a suspension of its collaboration with the youtuber.
