From July 13, OCS will broadcast the Anglo-Australian series Ten Pound Poms (6 x 60'), the result of a co-production between the BBC and the streaming platform Stan (Nine Digital), which is experiencing rapid growth in Australia.

After World War II, more than a million Britons left an economically slumped England and emigrated to Australia for just £10 a government-sponsored boat trip and the promise of a better future. The series, which takes place in 1956, follows the fate of some of these Britons whose new life is far from the idyllic dream they were promised. These English were called “ten pounds poms” by Australians and New Zealanders. This unflattering nickname would take its origin from the contraction of the word "pomegranate". Indeed, people arriving from the UK used to get sunburned, giving them a pomegranate color.

The series created by Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic, Ordinary Lies) will premiere during the 62nd edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival on June 18, in the presence of actors Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones, The White Queen) and Warren Brown (Luther, Strike Back).
