The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is launching its call for applications for its 2023 selection this Wednesday, March 1, organizers announced on Monday, February 27. It will close on May 31. The selection will be announced at the end of July.

This next edition, which will be held from September 20 to 24, will include a novelty: the category "Young audience 3 years +" disappears from the official competition in favor of a category "Adolescent aged 13 years +", indicates the press release. The works that will be selected will be submitted to a jury composed exclusively of secondary school students from the region.

Remember that the other categories of the animation festival concern feature films, "narrative" short films, "non-narrative" short films, student films, commissioned films, animation intended for 7-12 year olds, animation for 13-18 year olds, animated series (not intended for children) and virtual reality.
