Pierre-Chevalier Prize: Jean-Baptiste Durand and Anaïs Bertrand awarded for "Chien de la casse"

The first Pierre-Chevalier 2023 prizes were awarded on Wednesday May 24 during the Cannes Film Festival to director Jean-Baptiste Durand and producer Anaïs Bertrand (Insolence Productions) for the feature film Chien de la casse, with Anthony Bajon, Raphaël Quenard, Galatea Bellugi, currently in theaters.
Created this year with the support of Arte France, Cofiloisirs, Rubini & Associés and M141, these two prizes (direction/production) support today's young cinematographic creation, in line with the pioneering work of the cinema, television and radio producer Pierre Chevalier, historical figure of Arte who disappeared in 2019, underlines the cultural channel in a press release. He has in particular within Arte hatched the first films of Cédric Klapisch, Claire Denis, Noémie Lvovsky, Patricia Mazuy or even Cédric Kahn, it recalls.
The prizes for the filmmaker and the producer are respectively €25,000 and €20,000. Chien de la casse is the first feature film by Jean-Baptiste Durand and the second for producer Anaïs Bertrand.
The jury was made up of producer Toufik Ayadi (SRAB Films), Christiane Chevalier, sister of Pierre Chevalier, Julie Deliquet, director and director of the Théâtre de Saint-Denis, producer Philippe Martin (Les Films Pelléas), producer Sylvie Pialat (Les Films du Worso), director Katell Quillévéré and Boris Razon, editorial director of Arte France.
