Pierre de Lagarde: death of the creator of the program "Chefs-d’œuvre en péril" at the age of 90

Pierre de Lagarde, creator of the show Chefs-d’œuvre en péril, died on November 15, in Paris, at the age of 90. He began his career as a journalist at the ORTF before launching, in 1962, Chefs-d’œuvre en péril, first on radio, then on television, on the public channel Antenne 2. He was a producer and director of the program dedicated to the protection of heritage which will have 150 broadcasts until the beginning of the 1990s. In 1971, the broadcast had declined to a paper magazine, Monuments en péril, of which Pierre de Lagarde was the editor-in-chief for five years.

Also the author of books devoted to heritage and religion, which have earned him several prestigious awards, Pierre de Lagarde received the UNESCO media/art prize in 1991. He was the father of radio journalist Olivier de Lagarde (franceinfo), president of the Press Club de France.
