Polar+: acquisition of the thriller “The Light in the Hall” (S4C and Channel 4)

APC (About Premium Content) announced Wednesday, February 22 the first sales of the series The Light in the Hall (6 x 52 ', Y Golau, in Welsh) that the company of Laurent Boissel and Emmanuelle Guilbart distributes and co-produced via APC Studios, alongside Duchess Street Productions as well as Triongl for Channel 4, Sundance Now (AMC Networks), and SC4. Filmed in English and Welsh, the series launched at the last MipCom was acquired by the Polar+ channel (Canal+ group) in France.

It has also been acquired by BritBox in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, AMC Networks International Southern Europe in Spain and Portugal, RTP2 in Portugal and RTS in Switzerland.

Written and created by Regina Moriarty (Murdered by My Boyfriend) and directed by Andy Newbery (Keeping Faith) and Chris Forster (Hidden), the thriller launched on Channel 4 across the Channel on January 4, becoming this month "the most-watched drama series on [the] channel's commercial on-demand service," the statement said. The English version will also air in North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Starring Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve, Sanditon, No Offence), Iwan Rheon (Misfits, Game of Thrones) and Joanna Scanlan (No Offence, After Love), the fiction follows three characters connected by the murder of a teenage girl in a small town in Wales.
