Polar Connection, the professional meetings organized in parallel with the Quais du polar festival, from March 31 to April 2 in Lyon, unveiled the program for their 10th edition on Tuesday March 7. Aimed at players in the book, audiovisual, digital and cultural action sectors, they will notably host the Polar series award ceremony.

Conceived with the support of the Scelf, this prize rewards a French-speaking noir novel or thriller for its qualities and its potential for adaptation into a television series. The winner, decided among six titles in competition (Satellifacts, January 18), will be designated on Friday March 31 at 12:15 p.m.

Among the various events of these meetings, a workshop “Audiovisual writing – Spotting, transmitting and supporting: which new authors for thrillers on screen? » will take place on Friday March 31 at 10:30 am, followed at 11:15 am by a Focus on the key figures of the thriller market in France.

In the afternoon, among other things, a meeting will be organized at 2:30 p.m. with the author Jake Adelstein around Tokyo Vice (adapted as a series broadcast in 2022 on Canal+) and at 3:45 p.m. a case study on the scenario of the judicial series 66.6 (coming soon on Canal+), on the place of reality in the writing of a series.

Saturday April 1 will be devoted in particular to trends in French crime fiction (10.15 a.m.) and to a presentation by eight publishers of their novelty thrillers (10.45 a.m.).
