Prime Video has ordered two seasons of Etoile, a new series written, directed and produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (Gilmore Girls, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), the platform announced on Thursday April 27. This fiction, taking place in the world of classical dance, will be shot in Paris and New York.
Etoile was developed as part of Amazon Studios' overall deal with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (Satellifacts, September 25, 2017). The series is embodied by two French actresses: Camille Cottin and Lou de Laâge, as well as Luke Kirby and Gideon Glick (both in the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Simon Callow (Outlander), and David Alvarez (West Side Story).
The series follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies, in Paris and New York, as they embark on an ambitious gamble to save their historic institutions by swapping their most talented stars.
