
Prime Video will launch Franck Gastambide 's film Medellín on June 2, the platform announced on Tuesday, April 4. This Prime Original feature film will be available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. As a reminder, this production, shot in particular in Colombia, was announced a year ago as "the largest budget to date in France” (Satellifacts, April 12, 2022).
Based on an original idea by Franck Gastambide (Pattaya, Taxi 5, Validé), who co-wrote the film with Charles Van Tieghem (Validé), Medellín is produced by Kowloon Film (Eric and Nicolas Altmayer). This action comedy is embodied by the director, Ramzy Bedia (La Tour Montparnasse infernale), Anouar Toubali (Pattaya), Brahim Bouhlel (Validé), Raymond Cruz (Breaking Bad) and Essined Aponte (SWAT), with the participation of the ex-boxer Mike Tyson (Very Bad Trip).
The plot: To save his little brother from the hands of dangerous narcos of the Medellín cartel, Reda has a plan as simple as it is completely insane: assemble a team and raid Colombia! But this crazy adventure will spiral out of control when he decides to kidnap the cartel leader's son to trade him for his brother's life.
