Prix Varenne: the TV and radio winners of the 2022 edition

From November 7 to 10, the Varenne Foundation unveiled the winners of its 2022 awards on its Twitter account, who received 623 applications in all categories.

In the JRI category, the Grand Prize was awarded to Gwendoline Debono, France 24 correspondent in the Middle East, for her Irpin, évacuation à haut risque, produced in Ukraine a month after the start of the Russian invasion. A special mention was given to Bixente Hacala, journalist for TF1 Info, for his investigation on lithium. And the young journalist prize went to Juan Palencia for the report Crimes de guerres : enquêter sous les bombes broadcast on BFM TV.

In the radio category, the Grand Prize was awarded to Nicolas Burnens, a reporter for RTL, for his subject on assisted suicide in Switzerland. The Young Journalist Prize hailed Margaux Queffélec for her report Adolescents : les tentatives de suicide en hausse broadcast in the franceinfo podcast Le Quart d'heure.

The award ceremony will take place on December 14 at the premises of the Fondation Varenne in Paris.
