The programs of France Télévisions and Radio France were largely disrupted, Thursday, January 19, due to a "call for strike by all trade unions" against the pension reform, according to messages broadcast on the various channels.
France Télévisions announced 23.13% of strikers among its workforce. For its part, Radio France was not yet able to communicate a figure at the end of the afternoon. Throughout the day, the group's stations broadcast the following message at regular intervals: "Due to a call for a strike by all the trade union organizations representing Radio France filed within the framework of the national day of mobilization against the pension reform, we are not able to broadcast all of our usual programs."
At the start of the day on France 2, the Télématin program offered the rebroadcast of old sequences, whether on societal or cultural themes, such as the singer Zazie who came to present her latest album Aile-P on December 14, 2022. The 1 p.m. newspaper indicated, at the end of the edition, that it had been produced under “special conditions due to a strike movement by part of France Télévisions.”
On the franceinfo channel, Samuel Etienne provided his morning on set, with columnists and guests, to comment, essentially, on social movements in France. A banner warned viewers that fewer stories would be broadcast due to disrupted operation.
On the radio side, franceinfo offered, instead of continuous information, shortened bulletins, spaced out by half an hour of music time. Ditto on France Inter, with a playlist mixing all styles, from the outdated pop of Sixto Rodriguez to the rapper Lomepal, via Gilbert Montagné and his hit Sous les sunlights des tropiques. On the waves of France Culture, the music also occupied the air at the beginning of the afternoon.
