Public Sénat will launch its new "sport and society" program (Satellifacts, September 12), Saturday November 19, at 6 p.m., the channel announced on Thursday November 10, 10 days before the kick-off of the Football World Cup, in Qatar (November 20, December 18). On a monthly basis, S port, etc. (52') is the first program devoted to sport on the parliamentary channel since its creation. It will be presented by specialist journalist Anne-Laure Bonnet (ex-Canal+, Téléfoot, beIN Sports, Sky Italia), with the participation of one of her colleagues from L'Equipe, the channel's partner on the program.
Sports, etc. is presented as a debate magazine which intends to decipher "sports news from a citizen's point of view." It is aimed "as much at those who wish to better understand the growing influence of sport in our societies and its role in the economy, sociology, politics as at the most sports enthusiasts wishing to approach the subject differently." The first issue will be devoted to the challenges of the 2022 World Cup.
Public Sénat does not rule out switching to a fortnightly frequency in a second phase, depending on upcoming sporting events, the channel told Satellifacts.
