Public Sénat will broadcast this Saturday Paysans cinéastes, an unreleased documentary (52') directed by Louis Aucoin and produced by La Huit/Cinéam, the channel said on Wednesday February 22.

There was a time when we all had a connection with the countryside, a grandfather or a grandmother living in a rural area, someone who made us see from near or far the reality of the peasant world. Over the decades, this link seems to have been distended. So how well do we know our farmers? How have mechanization, the evolution of practices, the intensification of agriculture have turned life in the countryside upside down? Should we draw inspiration from the past to create the agriculture of tomorrow?

The documentary broadcast will be followed by Un monde en doc, whose debate, moderated by Rebecca Fitoussi, will focus on agriculture and the rural world, “between nostalgia and modernity”.
