Sky (Comcast) will release a new 24-hour commercial-free linear children's channel that will broadcast Sky Originals content (My Friend Misty, Ready Eddie Go!), recognized franchises (Clifford, Trolls Trollstopia …) and educational programs around artistic disciplines, announced the group on Tuesday, November 22. Scheduled for February 2023, this Sky Kids channel targets children aged 1 to 7.

The channel will be accessible at no additional cost to Sky TV subscribers with the Sky Kids option (6£ per month – 7 euros). The channel will integrate this package which offers 10,000 children's episodes on demand and broadcast to several channels including Nick Jr., Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. It will be available to Sky subscribers with access to the NOW Entertainment streaming service (9.99£ per month – 11.60€).

Among the original content announced: Dino Club (produced by True To Nature); My Friend Misty (Hillside productions, CTVC) in April 2023; Ready Eddie Go! (Hocus Pocus Productions) in October 2023.

The creation of this channel comes as the BBC, which has so far two linear children's channels, CBeebies (under 6 years old) and CBBC (6-13 years old), will close the second in the coming years to make it a online service on iPlayer, the public group announced in May promoting a "digital-first" logic (Satellifacts, May 27).
