Somewhere Animation / Marla Studios: development of an animated series "Temtem"

Somewhere Animation (Arthur Colignon), Mediawan kids & family label, and Marla Studios (Jean Julien Baronnet) will develop the animated series Temtem, derived from the online game of the same name, the children-family branch of the Mediawan group announced on Monday. June 12.

Temtem, a multiplayer fantasy creature collection adventure game, was created by Spanish studio Crema and released in 2020 on PC and consoles. The animated series will be an adventure comedy (26 x 22') intended for children from 6 years old. Showrunner Josh Hamilton (Avatar: The Last Airbender) will provide writing direction. The plot of the Temtem series will take place within the Airbone Archipelago. With the loyal help of their furry or feathered Temtems, “heroes from different cultures must learn to work together as a team to fight exciting battles,” the statement describes.

Somewhere Animation, a 2D animation studio, created in 2022, founded and directed by Arthur Colignon, is one of the eight labels of Mediawan kids & family (our “Confidential”, June 14, 2022). The studio has six projects in development, including Chefclub Adventures (Satellifacts, October 6, 2022).

Marla Studios is a production company specializing in the adaptation of video games for film and television. The studio currently produces 10 intellectual properties in development or in pre-production.
