The Best Global Pitch award, presented by the Sunny Side of the Doc, went to Fight For Food directed by Maia von Lekow, Christopher King and Zippy Kimundu, produced by Rada Studios Ltd. in Kenya. The project was among the 12 pitches of international documentaries selected for the 3rd edition of the operation, organized on February 7 and 8 and devoted to climate change.
Fight For Food takes an in-depth look at the farmers, scientists and cultural activists fighting to preserve Kenya's agriculture and food cultures, and the forces working to take control of the country's food systems.
A special mention was also given to the project Their Present is Our Future: Saleem and Climate Adaptation, which highlights local initiatives to adapt to climate change.
The price of the Global Pitch is endowed with 3,000 euros and two accreditations for Sunny Side of the Doc 2023 (June 19-22). The Global Pitch presentations were attended by "more than 220 professionals representing over 190 companies from more than 40 countries," according to the press release.
