
Syfy will launch the exclusive broadcast of the Moonhaven series (6 x 45' – AMC Networks) on March 21, scheduled every Tuesday at 9 p.m., the NBCUniversal channel announced on Tuesday February 21. It will be fully available on the Universal+ service (NBCU) after its broadcast on the channel.
Created by Peter Ocko, who was also the showrunner, this series produced by AMC Studios takes place in 2201. The Earth has almost become uninhabitable for three generations, men have visibly exhausted all its reserves. A utopian colony, Moonhaven, has settled on the Moon for a specific purpose: to develop, thanks to an artificial intelligence named Io, technologies that should allow a return to normal life on the blue planet. Pilot of a contraband freighter, Bella Sway finds herself accused of a crime and abandoned in Moonhaven. With a local detective, she must foil a conspiracy to take control of the artificial intelligence running Moonhaven...
The series is carried by Dominic Monaghan (Lost, The Lord of the Rings), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Emma McDonald (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and Amara Karan (The Twilight Zone).
The series was successfully broadcast in the United States between July 7 and August 4, 2022 on the AMC+ streaming service. It had been renewed for a season 2, but AMC Networks finally canceled it as part of the savings plan announced after the departure of CEO Christina Spade last December.
