TV5 Monde launched Wednesday, June 7 exclusively the Ivorian series Ici C' Babi on its French-language platform TV5Mondeplus, the channel announced the same day. Distinguished at the last Fespaco 2023 by the jury prize, it will be broadcast on all TV5 Monde channels in September, it is specified.
Produced by Instant2Vie Studio (Charly Kodjo) with the participation of RTI (Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne) and the collaboration of Trace Studios, this 41 x 13' series directed by Boris Oué is based on a screenplay co-written by the writer Armand Gauz, Boris Oué and Fatim Diaby, based on an original idea by Charly Kodjo. It takes viewers to the heart of Abidjan, capital of Côte d'Ivoire and nicknamed Babi. Through the lively neighborhoods, colorful markets and picturesque streets of the capital, the series explores the joys, challenges and aspirations of five characters who meet in a whirlwind of laughter, love and misunderstandings.
The series has received support from the Image de la francophonie fund (OIF) and the Francophonie TV5Mondeplus fund (Satellifacts, June 24, 2020 and March 4, 2022).
