Unlimited cards: for the first time, a circuit (Pathé) offers a monthly offer without commitment

Until January 3, 2023, Pathé is offering a promotion of a non-binding subscription to its CinéPass unlimited formula, with the 100% digital card and the monthly direct debit. Administrative fees are also waived during this period. The offer for those under 26 usually requires a 6-month commitment, while the other two offers (CinéPass and Duo) require a minimum commitment of 12 months.
This is the first time that a circuit has offered a completely non-binding promotional offer. Until now, the various offers included a non-binding subscription for 3 months, sometimes with waived administration fees.
For its part, UGC offers, also until January 3, a subscription with 3 months without commitment. In fact, it is a 12-month commitment with the possibility of terminating the subscription only until the 20th day of the 3rd full month. Membership fees are also waived.
While the price of tickets purchased individually is generally higher on the Pathé circuit than on the UGC circuit, the price of subscriptions does not follow the same trend. For subscriptions under 26, Solo, and Duo, the monthly price is respectively (excluding any 3D, 4 DX, Dolby cinema, Imax, Premium supplements) 16.90 euros, 19.90 € and 33.90 € in the Pathé circuit, and €17.90, €21.90 and €36.80 in the UGC circuit. According to the salle-cinema.com site, the CinéPass allows access to some 800 screens in France, while the unlimited UGC card gives access to some 700 screens in France and 216 cinemas in Europe, notably in Madrid, Rome and Brussels.
